Web site design

When putting together a website, I always keep in mind that the functionality and design have to work together. The client and I will first discuss the purpose of the website. Is it informational only? Do they want to sell online? Do they want to build a community? How will it be updated? One of the first things I do with my clients is go over the three major components of a successful website.

Brand:
Your brand is your identity. This is the personality you want your customers and clients to understand and remember. It encompasses not only your logo or mission statement, but also your position in the marketplace and how you are perceived by your intended audience.

Content:
This is the information your customer and client wants and needs to know. Content needs to be seen through the eyes of your audience.

Function:
This is what your customer and client is supposed to do. Website should be interactive in some way. You want to engage your customers to begin a relationship with you. That's why you should think about how you want visitors to respond to your website.

All three of these components are determined by the vision of the business owner.

Below are some screenshots of websites I've designed overt the years.
